What are the origins of Speed Dating? |
| |
A Rabbi in New York noticed that in his community there were many single professionals who were not able to meet a partner. He was trying to find a new fun way for single people to meet and thought of speed dating. His idea caught on very quickly and soon speed dating spread to the rest of America and then to Europe. |

Who can participate? |
| |
Anyone who is single and who is over 18 years old can attend our speed dating events. |

What happens during a speed dating event? |
| |
At a typical speed dating event each participant has about 15 to 25 dates in one evening, lasting normally 3, 4 or 5 minutes each. At the beginning of the evening each participant is given a scorecard and has to tick yes or no to state whether they would like to see their dates again. After 3, 4 or 5 minutes a bell rings and either the men or the women move to their next date. At the end of the evening scorecards are returned to the organizers. |

What happens after the event? |

An email will be sent to you within 48 hours to let you know whether you have any matches. |

Why do I need to pay in advance? |
| |
In order to make speed dating events work we need to ensure that we have enough people attending each event and that we have a right balance of men and women. If you arrive at the event without having registered first we might not have a place for you. |

I don't have a credit card, can I pay by cheque? |
| |
Yes, you can make your cheque payable to Universal Meetings Ltd and send it to Swiftdater, Universal Meetings Ltd, South Street House, 51 South Street, Isleworth, Middlesex, TW7 7AA. Please include the event you are booking, your name, gender, email address and contact phone number. Please note that we normally require for the cheque to arrive 7 days or more before the event date. |

Can I attend an event if I'm just outside the age group range of a specified event? |
| |
Yes, you can. The specified ranges are only guidelines. However, if you are well outside the specified age range it might be difficult to get matches. |

What is your policy on refunds? |
| |
Provided you let us know more than 72 hours before and event, we will transfer you free of charge to another event or refund you less a £7 per ticket administration charge. All requests for refunds and transfers must be confirmed in writing. |

| |
A very interesting mix of people from different professions. Some examples are: PAs, marketeers, brokers, bankers, musicians, nurses, doctors, professional rugby players, actors, an inventor, a gallery owner, lawyers, company owners, entrepreneurs, teachers, nannies, surveyors, chauffeurs, a butler, chefs, an archaeologist, business analysts, engineers, lecturers, photographers, property developers, accountants, IT consultants, an illustrator, a personal organiser, psychologists, journalists, tv producers, film producers, cameramen, stewardesses etc.
